Our Team

Lowell CDC believes that Lowell is an asset rich community. Our staff and board believe that the community has the power and the resources to create the most positive change.

Executive Director: Esther Delahay

Esther grew up in the foothills of the southern-Sierra Nevada Mountains on her family’s cattle ranch. She moved to Fresno in 2004 to attend Fresno Pacific University where she earned her degree in Intercultural Studies. Esther moved to the Lowell neighborhood in 2007 and began her involvement soon after. She and her husband Nate completed the Pink House internship in 2009 and she began working full time for Youth for Christ. Esther directed their City Life program for three years serving youth and families living in the Lowell neighborhood. Esther also helped plan and start the Lowell Community Garden and enjoys spending time meeting neighbors and sharing veggies. Esther is passionate about her community of downtown Fresno and is excited to represent the Lowell CDC. She has had an active part in collaborating with many CBOs and Churches to serve the community with special events including health fairs, block parties, Christmas Gift-Away, summer youth camps, holiday parties and house renovations.

As the Lowell CDC’s first Executive Director since it began its work 2 1/2 years ago, Esther will provide leadership and direction to the organization and its staff. Esther will be instrumental in furthering the organization’s mission of improving quality of life in the Lowell neighborhood in a way that embraces economic diversity, make businesses eager to invest, honors area history, and creates a thriving community for families.
